Library Card:
There is no charge for residents living in Marion County.
The fee for residents living outside of Marion County is $15.00 per year for a
family card.
Check-Out:
Audio tapes - 2 weeks
Books (regular circulation collection) - 2 weeks
Compact discs - 2 weeks
Magazines - 2 weeks
Videos - 2 weeks
Reference - Cannot be checked out
Internet Policy:
Must have a current Palmyra Bicentennial Public Library card.
Children under the age of 18 must have a written parental permission to use the
internet. The Internet Agreement must be signed by both the child and parent in
the presence of the library staff. Library card must be presented each time you
want to use the internet. Sign-up sheet is at the desk.
Overdues:
One week after materials are due a postcard/phone call will be
sent.
Two weeks after materials are due a letter and bill for replacement costs will
be sent, along with a copy being sent to the Palmyra Police Department.
Computerized Card Catalog:
The Palmyra Bicentennial Public Library is completely automated,
and you may search for materials by title, subject, or author.
Interlibrary Loan:
If a book you want is not available at our library, we will
borrow it from another library for you. The only fee is that you must pay return
postage.
Word Processors and Internet Service:
The Palmyra Bicentennial Public Library has 8 internet computers
and 1 word processor for our patrons use. Printing is $0.15 per page for black
and white. It is necessary that you have a library card. The time is limited to
one hour.
Homebound Program:
Volunteers would be more then happy to bring library materials
on a regular basis to persons who are permanently or temporarily home-bound.
Locations may include the hospital, private homes, nursing homes, or group
homes.
Story Hour:
The Palmyra Bicentennial Public Library provides
programs for our younger patrons all year. Story Hour takes place on Friday
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Story hours are provided for children from toddlers.
During the summer, story hour takes place Monday - Friday at different times
each day. Summer Story Hour is for toddlers through 8th grade.
Fax Machine:
The Palmyra Bicentennial Public Library does have
a fax machine for public use. The fax machine number is (573) 769-2830. The
charge for sending a fax is $1.00 per page. The charge for receiving a fax is
$0.25 per page.
Copy Machine:
The Palmyra Bicentennial Public Library does have
a copy machine for public use. Copies are $0.15 per page, $0.30 for a two-sided
copy.
Microfilm Reader/Printer:
For those doing research, there is a microfilm
reader/printer available for public use. Printing from the microfiche/film is
$0.25 per page.
Public Meeting Room:
There is a meeting room for public use. It is
necessary to reserve the room by appointment. Call or stop in to make your
appointment.
